Karen Fairchild has both an educational and professional background. She has a B.A. in Physiology and a B.S. in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Minnesota, where she also completed graduate courses in Management Information Systems. With over 20 years in technical and management roles in Information Technology, she has been primarily involved in healthcare related software development and has designed and developed dietary software systems in the past for Electronic Data Systems as well as one of the first PC DOS based dietary programs.  She has also held technical and executive positions for Cerner, a software vendor for clinical hospital systems, and Healthvision an interoperable health information exchange vendor for connecting patient health records in communities.

Advisory Board

Donna Skell and her husband founded and successfully developed a chain of ladies fitness centers in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, constructing nine locations with over 60,000 members, 500 employees and $10,000,000 per year in annual sales.  They helped pioneer the computerized health risk diagnostic and prescription software, HealthCheck, in the mid-eighties before the internet and technologies available today.  This program was well received and utilized.  After selling their business in 1988, Donna has consulted with spa resorts and spoken at companies and churches.  She has created several direct sales business plans and implemented them, building and directing large sales organizations.   She is currently working with nonprofit ministries, American Tract Society and Fellowship of Professional Women, where she serves as President.

JoyLynn Hailey Reed, Ph.D.  is a psychologist specializing in motivation and learning.  As a certified fitness professional for the past 26 years, Dr. Hailey Reed has owned a nationally recognized fitness franchise and developed University and individual fitness programs.  She believes that the keys to a person’s ability to become healthier and more fit lie with motivation and the ability to set and reach goals.  Dr. Hailey Reed’s belief in NutriSess comes from her academic research into the motivational processes behind the Plan-Track-Assess-Adjust model.

Roy Hart, FACHE, MBA is currently VP, Business Development & Sales for MedRemote.  Roy brings over 20 years experience from a diverse healthcare and technology background.  Roy has held executive and technical positions with VHA Inc., Cerner, and EDS  He has held hospital administrative positions for both civilian as well as USAF military hospitals. Roy is a Fellow, American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE), Professional, Academy for Healthcare Management (PAHM), and a member of HIMSS.

Elaine Parrish’s background combines broad expertise in sales, marketing, and operations management.  She has built and successfully run a wide spectrum of businesses.  Elaine is especially known for her leadership and for turning around challenging or underperforming operations. Elaine creates productive and successful business partnerships. She has held senior executive positions with major multinational corporations  Elaine holds a Bachelor of Science in Business and Public Administration from the University of Texas at Dallas.

John Arena, CPA is the sole proprietor of John M. Arena, CPA, a financial services practice that provides a wide range of services to both start up and established entities in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  With almost eighteen years of professional experience, John has held Vice President and Controller positions in the telecommunications and health care fields where he supervised the accounting & tax, financial planning, treasury, payroll and human resources functions. He graduated in 1986 from the University of Maryland with a BS degree in Accounting, and has been a licensed Certified Public Accountant since 1989.
